New data on the systematic and distribution of butterflies of Middle Asia with some notes on its faunagenesis (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea).

SUMMARY. In the present paper 3 new taxa are described: Melitaea elisabethae petrimagnus, ssp.n. (type locality: Tajikistan, Shakhdarinsky Mts., upper course of Pan-Dara river, 24 km from Khorog), Lycaena margelanica gaudibunda, ssp.n. (type locality: Kirghizia, Terskey Ala-Too Mts., 4th km of the road Kok-Moynok — Kochkor, 1700 m) and Athamanthia sergetitovi, sp.n. (type locality: Kazakhstan, Syrdaryinsky Karatau Mts., Beresek valley, 900 m). New localities for 2 species are recorded: Hyponephele kirghisa (Alphéraky, 1881) for the first time recorded from the northern slope of Kirghiz Mts., Polyommatus ripartii (Freyer, 1830) recorded from Chichkan valley in Talas Mts. and for the first time recorded from the Moldo-Too Mts. in Ottuk vicinities. Some questions of faunagenesis and role of Pleistocene refugia in this process are discussed.

Ecology-faunistic review of Aphids (Homoptera: Aphidoidea) of the Katon-Karagai National Natural Park (Kazakhstan part of Altai).

SUMMARY. 211 species of aphids belonging to 78 genera of the families Adelgidae (6 species, 2.8% of the fauna), Aphididae (205, 97.2%) are identified on the territory of Katon-Karagai National Park. The family Aphididae in turn subdivided into 10 subfamilies: Thelaxinae (2 species, 0.95%), Hormaphidinae (2, 0.95%), Eriosomatinae (9, 4.4%), Lachninae (13, 6.3%), Macropodaphidinae (2, 0.95%), Saltusaphidinae (3, 1.45%), Calaphidinae (7, 3.4%), Chaitophorinae (16, 7.7%), Pterocommatinae (4, 1.9%), Aphidinae (146, 69.2%). Genera Pemphigus (5 species), Cinara (11), Sipha (4), Chaitophorus (9), Pterocomma (4), Aphis (48), Brachycaudus (5), Dysaphis (3), Semiaphis (4), Cavariella (4), Coloradoa (3), Nasonovia (3), Acyrthosiphon (10), Uroleucon (11), Macrosiphoniella (10) are the most richly represented in the fauna of the national park. 1-2 species are noted in the remaining 63 genera. 44 species and subspecies are the first found in the Kazakh Altai, of which 10 species and subspecies are indicated for the first time for the fauna of Kazakhstan — Macropodaphis primigenius Ivanovskaja, 1965, Aphis dasiphorae Holman & Szelegiewicz, 1971, A. patriniphila Holman, 1988, A. thomasi (Börner, 1950), Dysaphis nevskyi ssp. nevskyi (Börner, 1940), Cavariella intermedia Hille Ris Lambers, 1969, Coloradoa campestrella Ossiannilsson, 1959, Acyrthosiphon bistorti Ivanovskaja, 1973, Delphiniobium hanla Paik,1971, Macrosiphoniella davazhamci Holman & Szelegiewicz, 1974. Thus, taking into account the material contained in this work, in the Kazakh Altai currently identified 365 species of aphids.

Further additions to the Lepidoptera fauna of the Nizhny Novgorod Province.

SUMMARY. The published data on Microlepidoptera of the Nizhny Novgorod Province are summarized in this paper for the first time. The data concerning newly discovered species of Lepidoptera from the Nizhny Novgorod Province of Russia is provided: in total, 126 from 35 families are listed as new for the region, including Syngrapha ain (Hochenwarth, 1785) as new for Middle Volga. 2 species previously mentioned for the province are reidentified: record of Agriphila latistria (Haworth, 1811) belongs to A. tristella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775), and record of Noctua orbona (Hufnagel, 1766) — to N. interposita (Hübner, [1790]).

Оn the fauna of geometrid moths (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) of the Nizhny Novgorod Province.

SUMMARY. Based on materials collected between 1974 – 2011 and published data, an annotated list of Geometridae of the Nizhny Novgorod province is presented. It includes 238 species in total, 15 of which are recorded from the province for the first time; also 8 local or rare species are unnumbered and are known only by the published data and old collections. Annotations for the rarest species and species on the edge of their distributions also contain data on their distribution in adjacent regions. The species of the genus Macaria Curtis, 1826 s.l. (sensu Scoble et Krüger, 2002) are accepted as divided into subgenera Macaria s.str. and Speranza Curtis, 1828, stat. rest., the species of genus Heliomata Grote et Robinson, 1866 in subgenus Рерasmenoptera Gumppenberg, 1887, stat. rest., and the species of genus Isturgia Hübner, [1823] s.l. (sensu Scoble et Krüger, 2002) in the subgenus Tephrina Guinée, [1854], stat. n.
