A simple device for trapping nidicolous animals.

SUMMARY. The description of a device for trapping nidicolous animals designed and tested by the author is presented. 618 samplings taken in the burrows of the spotted souslik colony (the vicinity of Morozova Gora, the nature reserve “Galichya Gora”) resulted in identifying 2096 Coleoptera specimens belonging to 122 species from 21 family. A list of the most numerous species is provided.

Additions and corrections to the fauna of Lepidoptera of the Tula Province. 5.

SUMMARY. Additions and corrections to the list of Lepidoptera of Tula province is presented, which is comprised of 40 species, 28 of which are new to the province, and one – Gelechia basipunctella Herrich-Schäffer, 1854 – is new to Central European Russia, the rest are those in need of various clarifications. Occurence of Euxoa obelisca ([Denis et Schiffermüller], 1775) in the province, previously known only by early XXth century material, is confirmed. Excluded from the list are Notocelia rosaecolana (Doubleday, 1850) (the only specimen known was reidentified as N. trimaculana (Haworth, 1811)), Apamea lithoxylaea ([Denis et Schiffermüller], 1775) (the only specimen known was reidentified as A. sublustris (Esper, 1788)) and Mythimna unipuncta (Haworth, 1809) (the only specimen known was reidentified as M. ferrago (Fabricius, 1787)). Additionally, Hypochalcia proinquella (Eversmann, 1842) is reported as new to Central European Russia, which was previously erroneously identified as . lignella (Hübner, 1796), the occurence of the latter in the province now requires confirmation. Furthermore, 1 new species is reported for Kaluga province and 3 species are confirmed as occuring there. Northernmost and northwesternmost records in European Russia are presented for Tischeria decidua Wocke, 1876, Crassa unitella (Hübner, 1796), Atralata albofascialis (Treitschke, 1829), Idaea rufaria (Hübner, [1799]), Dysauxes ancilla (Linnaeus, 1767), Caradrina albina Eversmann, 1848 and Fabula zollikoferi (Fryer, 1836).
