A.A. Gusakov
New and little known species of false darkling beetles (Coleoptera: Melandryidae) from Eastern Palaearctic.

SUMMARY. Three new species from China are described: Melandrya (s. str.) aeneola, sp. n. (Sichuan), M. (Apteromelandrya) monstrum, sp. n. (Yunnan) and Penthe simplicicornis, sp. n. (Gansu). Bonzicus Lewis, 1895, stat. n., traditionally has been accepted as a genus, now is regarded as a subgenus within Melandrya Fabricius, 1801. The following new synonyms are established: Bonzicus Lewis, 1895 = Ivania Lewis, 1895, syn. n.; Melandrya (Bonzicus) incostata Fairmaire, 1889 = Bonzicus hypocrita Lewis, 1895, syn. n. = Bonzicus hypocrita v. notata Pic, 1934, syn. n. A new combination is proposed: Melandrya (Bonzicus) coccinea (Lewis, 1895), comb. n. (ex Ivania). M. incostata is recorded for Northern China (Gansu) for the first time.

Taxonomical structure of Dorcadion (Cribridorcadion) ciscaucasicum Jakovlev, 1900 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) with the description of a new subspecies from Taman.

SUMMARY. Dorcadion (Cribridorcadion) ciscaucasicum abramovi, ssp.n. is described from Taman Peninsula of Krasnodar Territory of Russia. Dorcadion (Cribridorcadion) ciscaucasicum mokrzeckii Jakovlev, 1902, stat. n. is redescribed and regarded as a subspecies. D. ciscaucasicum Jakovlev, 1900 is redescribed. Lectotypes are designated for D. mokrzeckii and D. ciscaucasicum.

New species of the genus Agapanthia Serville, 1835 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) from South-West Kazakhstan.

SUMMARY. Agapanthia (Epoptes) shovkuni, sp. n. is described from South-West Kazakhstan (Mangystau Province). New species is close to Agapanthia (Epoptes) auliensis Pic, 1907, and is also ecologically connected with Eremurus inderiensis (Stev.) Regel. It is characterized by the absence of elytral grey humeral stripe, absence of hair tuft on 3-rd antennomere and dense spotty elytral pubescence. One new synonym is proposed: Agapanthia (Epoptes) persica Semenov, 1893 = transcaspica Pic, 1900, syn. n.

On the species compound of the genus Actias Leach, 1815 (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) of Russia.

SUMMARY. 3 species of the genus Actias Leach, 1815 (À. artemis (Bremer et Grey, [1853] 1852), À. gnoma (Butler, 1877) and À. sjoqvisti Bryk, 1948) are recorded from Russia and some erroneous previous identifications are corrected. A lectotype of Tropaea mandschurica Staudinger, 1892, is designated here from the Zoologisches Museum der Humboldt Universität (Berlin); the taxon is a synonym of A. artemis (Bremer et Grey, [1853] 1852). It is supposed that Actias artemis (Bremer et Grey, [1853] 1852), A. selene (Hübner, 1806) è A. ningpoana Felder, 1862 are 3 distinct species. Study of the type material confirmed the synonymy between Actias artemis ssp. tomariactias Bryk, 1942 and Tropaea gnoma Butler, 1877; the last-named species is removed from the subspecies of A. selene (Hübner, 1806) or A. artemis (Bremer et Grey, [1853] 1852). The taxon Actias artemis sjoqvisti Bryk, 1948 is removed from the subspecies of A. artemis (Bremer et Grey, [1853] 1852) and considered to be a distinct separate species. Its name is not based on a German root and is therefore to be changed to ‘sjoqvisti’ but not ‘sjoeqvisti’. A question on relationship between continental À. sjîqvisti Bryk, 1948, and Japanese À. aliena Butler, 1879 is still open. The genitalic characters and larval features are very similar in both species; probably both are only subspecies of one species. The question is planned to be decided after DNA-analysis of different populations of both taxa is done. The distribution table in the Catalogue of the Lepidoptera of Russia based on the new data obtained is corrected here. Keys for adults, male genitalia and mature larvae are given here as well as distributional maps for all species and figures of genitalic characters.

A new subspecies of Hyponephele kirghisa (Alphéraky, 1881) from the northern slope of Kirghiz Ala-Too Mts., North Tian-Shan (Lepidoptera: Satyridae).

SUMMARY. Hyponephele kirghisa pozhogini, ssp.n. is described from the northern slope of Kyrghyz Ala-Too Mts. (Tee-Ashuu pass). Neotype of H. k. sartha (Groum-Grshimailo, 1890) is established.

The Dilaridae (Neuroptera): poorly known ‘pleasing’ lacewings.

SUMMARY. Data on the distribution and habitats of larvae and imagoes of Dilaridae (Neuroptera) and their biology, paleontology and phylogenetic position are summarized. The first field observations of dilarid oviposition are reported. The female of Dilar septentrionalis Navás, 1912 laid eggs in a very narrow space between dead leaves of the grass Miscanthus purpurascens Anderss. growing on a dry grassland slope in Gamov Peninsula, South Primorye.

În the fauna of moths (Lepidoptera: Metaheterocera excl. Geometridae, Noctuidae s.l.) of the Nizhny Novgorod Province.

SUMMÀRY. Based on 1978 - 2008 collections and published data an annotated checklist of bombycoid moths (Epiplemidae, Drepanidae, Thyatiridae, Lasiocampidae, Lemoniidae, Saturniidae, Endromididae, Sphingidae, Notodontidae, Lymantriidae, Arctiidae, Syntomidae) of the Nizhny Novgorod Ðrovince is presented. It includes 116 species 7 of which are cited for the ðrovince for the first time, incl. Laelia coenosa (Hübner, [1808]) — for the first time for the Middle Volga region, and also 7 local or rare species which are unnumbered and are known only after published data and old collections.
